Hi,
I’m trying to install Icy 2 on Mac OSX Catalina (10.15.3). I’ve installed JDK 8 (jdk-8u241-macosx-x64.dmg), but when I open the application with CTRL+click, I get the error that the application can’t be opened (nothing about security preferences).
I was wondering if you have any suggestions for this error.
Thanks,
Anna
Stephane Dallongeville March 9, 2020 at 10:42 amHi Anna,
Is Icy correctly installed in Application folder ? If yes what you can try is to manually launch the icy.jar file located into the Icy.app package in the meantime (that should work). It’s not the first time we have report about people having issues launching Icy on OSX Catalina, we still yet didn’t figured why but we are investigating.
Best,

Shen Han March 26, 2020 at 4:51 pmHey I have the same problem! once I installed JDK8 and Icy, I couldn’t open it.
Stephane Dallongeville March 30, 2020 at 11:19 amIf you properly followed instructions from download page and it still doesn’t open Icy, the last thing you can try is to directly open the icy.jar (or updater.jar file) into the Icy.app package (so you need to show the package content first).

Maria Luisa Malosio September 21, 2020 at 12:07 amI have the same problem and I tried to launch the .jar file but I got an error message saying that the software is unsafe and may contain malware, so it is not possible to launch it. Is there a way to solve this problem?
Thank you very much
Best
Maria
