ICY2.02 versus Icy 1.9.1

    Hi,

I run this short protocol (see below) using a Zeiss CZI stack , three channels about 1 GB (Icy memory 15000 MB). With ICY version 1.9 this protocol work very well in few seconds while with version 2.0.2 this protocol block on step 4 intensity properties (I tried with virtual dub ON/off).

Do you know where is the problem?

    Thank for your help.

    Best regards.

Sorry, I forgot, It takes > 11 minutes to complete version 2.0.2.

    Hi Michel,

Indeed we were able to reproduce it and the speed difference is huge to say the least !
We will investigate and try to fix that asap (probably related to the intensity projection plugin which has been updated to be compatible with the new cache engine). Thanks for reporting !

We just updated the Intensity Projection plugin to improve the performance.
Still it remains a magnitude order slower than Icy < 2.0 version because we had to change the algorithm to make it compatible with the new virtual mode of Icy (which mean that you can compute intensity projection for a Z stack larger than your available memory).

    On my test image:
    *  Icy < 2.0 version was computing projection in 0.4 second
    *  previous Icy >= 2.0 version was computing projection in ~100 seconds (!!)
    * new Icy >=  2.0 version computed projection in 4 seconds

So unfortunately it remains much slower than older versions but probably acceptable compared to what you had just before.

    Hi,

You are right I confirm, the same stack version 2.0.2 intensity plugin 1.63 running time =135 sec, version 1.9 plugin version 1.53  =12 sec, same conclusion as you did.

    Thanks a lot.

    Regards

    Michel
