This viewer plug-in is an alternative to the default 2D viewer that let's you see a logarithmic view if the image data. In other words, the final pixels that appear on screen are the logarithmic values of the original pixel values.
This is viewer is particularly useful to observe data with very high dynamic range, i.e. greater than the screen allows (8bits = 256 intensity levels per color). Good example of such data sets are images acquired with 10/12/16 bit detectors, as well as Fourier spectra
